Finally I have got bored of the food in the dining hall. Previously I used to proclaim the food as good but now it has become really boring. Sometimes I even skip a meal to prevent going to the dining hall. Only few days back I had no objection with the food but after giving it a time of two and a half months I have finally become fed up with the food. I also realised that as the semester is progressing there is a gradual decrease in the standard of food. Breakfast is the only part of the meal that I truly enjoy in the dining hall. Therefore sometimes to have breakfast I don't sleep the previous night. I directly go to the dining hall when it opens at seven in the morning. The food is fresh and hot. At that time there's no rush and there is no worry about being late to classes as my first class is at ten normally. Other than the breakfast the rest of the day is quite boring especially the food at night. If you reach the dining hall at about nine at night half the food is over or packed up. It's probably because it is the busiest time of the day but it could improve. When it comes to lunch I don't experience lunch quite often due to my schedule. I used to enjoy lunch in the first one month or so but now even the lunch has become predictable and most of the days the lunch is same as the dinner which is the worst part. So as we are coming to the end of the semester I now understand why people detest the dining hall food.

  1. I've noticed that the dining hall is pretty good when Connect with Tech is here. But other than that, I agree, it's gone way downhill. I can only hope that it doesn't continue this trend the rest of the academic year. I'm not sure that it could keep getting worse at this rate for another eight months, but I'm afraid to jinx it.

  2. I am seriously considering downgrading my meal plan. Right now I have an unlimited plan, because (before the year began) I was not completely sure on the type of schedule I would have or how my eating habits would work out. It seemed like a good idea at the time, especially considering several of the other options were the same price. The only difference was the amount of Buzz Funds. Now, I am considering downloading to a plan with small dining hall means and a lot of Buzz Funds. I would rather use some of that money to offset book costs.

  3. The dining hall staff is getting kind of lazy. They do not care that they have not closed. They just pack up the food when they feel like it. It is extremely irritating.

  4. Breakfast is amazing--just get an omelet. It's my favorite meal of the day.

However, everything else is somewhat mediocre--I really like the burrito bar, but the actual dinner line has meat, meat, and more meat--or unseasoned vegetables. Everything worth getting requires waiting in line!
