Woody's? Ummm No Thank You

I do not think it is very good that I am already tired of Woody's. I try to avoid eating there as much as possible, especially after these last few weeks. I had a chicken bone in a burrito. Another day soon after, I picked up a taco which I soon found out had no meat of any kind in it. The sign did not say Vegetarian either. Also, lately I have noticed a lot of tofu related foods and things like egg foo jung. What happened to good ole chicken fingers?!

  1. You should try Brittain (sarcasm).

I'm going to go to the Buzzcard center tomorrow and try to talk them into letting me drop my meal plan altogether. The dining hall is getting out of hand. When Bud Peterson eats at Brittain at least daily I will shut up about this. I'm on the Social 75, which costs $613 per semester, so that means I am paying $8.17 for a crappy meal. If I weren't on the meal plan I could spend that $613 at any of the other on-campus dining locations. For example, I can get a burger basket (burger, fries, and a drink) at Junior's for $5.90 (including tax) or two doughnuts and a coffee at Dunkin' for $3.45 (again, including tax). Not to mention my fraternity's meal plan, which is $500/semester for 5 meals per week, or $900/semester for 9 (which works out to $6.67 per meal), and is infinitely better than any dining hall.

  2. They had chicken fingers the other day: It was the longest line for food I have seen in awhile (Not to mention one of the employees was handing out the chicken instead of letting students get them). I have the same opinion as I had weeks ago: its not much.

  3. I was actually surprised with Brittain a few days ago when they served Gyro wraps, and the meat actually tasted good, maybe because im used to the normal slop or because it was just so salty. But then yesterday they went back to normal and served a turkey burrito which i can tell you did not taste a thing like turkey. It was disgusting.

I am happy to go home for thanksgiving and fill myself with real food. Whoever came up with the "freshman 15" obviously never ate at Woodies or Brittain. I have lost a good bit of weight just because i refuse to eat such crap.

  4. I've started just eating things from the dining hall that they can't mess up. My meals now consist of rice, vegetables, and bread. I have the Plus 5 meal plan, so I get to eat at the student center once in a while.

  6. I have had a similar experience, I am tired too of this place. I was wrong on my par to have taken Unlimited plus plan. I am telling you this as I hardly go once in a day to eat at Woodies, this place has made my life horrible. I have planned to opt out of these dining plans which are just a way to get some money without serving anything good.

  7. I agree. Lately, Woody's has been my last resort option for food and i get gradually more sick of the place everytime i go. I current have the unlimited meal plan, but i barely manage 10 visits to the dining hall a week.

  8. Yes, Giovanni i agree that the gyro wraps are one of the only things worth eating. I eat at my sorority during the week, so i dread going to the dining hall on the weekends. My last resort meal is a salad and a chicken patty from the grill line that i cut up to make a fried chicken salad...

  9. It's a great idea to make a fried chicken salad that way! I'm going to try that for my next meal.
Woody's had fried chicken once last month, as well as mac and cheese. It was heavenly. However I do agree that I am sick of eating at the dining halls, as they seem to always serve the same old meals, and I always end up just eating a chicken sandwich.
