Dogs Living in Style

I went to Bruster's this weekend and brought my puppy, Chinky, along with me. She's small, so I was holding her in my arms as I placed my order. The girl behind the window offered me a cup of "doggy ice cream" for Chinky. Intrigued, I accepted the tiny cup. It appeared to be plain old vanilla ice cream, but Chinky definitely enjoyed her dessert.

This made me think about how society's establishments are opening their doors to the world of pets. Knowing that some people care for their animals just as much as their children, they offer extensive services designed to meet the needs of your pooch! And it doesn't stop at restaurants- there are spas, hotels, and daycare facilities just for dogs. What a world we live in :)

  1. Wow! I didn't know restaurant offer those services. But it is definitely satisfying that your pooch can share the culinary experience with you. =)

  2. i have heard of a few restaurants doing that before, and yeah pet places are awesome. I use to have a pet dog a long time ago, but now i've helped raise my girlfriend's dog. she is so sweet, and playful. It's funny since she was born the same month me and my girlfriend started going out. We love taking her dog out to petco or petsmart.

  3. My family would go to Bruster's all the time during the summer, and would always bring my dog along. It's gotten to the point where she recognizes the word "Bruster's" and will go crazy when she hears it.

Is Bruster's common in Georgia? I grew up about 10 minutes from the original Bruster's, and I didn't realize that they had made it this far south.

  4. There is a Bruster's at the Mall of Georgia, which is 15 minutes from my home. I've been there a couple of times with family, its a decent ice cream place (though it is a little expensive). I've honestly never seen a place cater to pets like that, other than a store dedicated to pet and pet supplies. Milk and milk products are not good for dogs either, so I wonder what was in the dog "ice cream"?
