Bananas

"Why bananas?," you might ask, but bananas are a very important part of this world. People often see bananas as just a fruit that has potassium. Ok.....so what does that mean? Like I said earlier, bananas are a very important part of this world, mainly athletes. Bananas are important because they are the one object that can be digested very quickly, giving a quick boost of energy and power. On top of that, bananas serve as a means to prevent cramps. Tennis players, such as myself, often take bananas to matches, especially long and drawn out ones. So remember, whenever you think about exercising, be sure to bring a banana.

  1. I love bananas! I actually just went to Publix today and bought some. I also like them because they remind me of that Gwen Stefani song from eighth grade...good times.

  2. Wow! I honestly didn't know about this. I'll be sure to bring some bananas with me next time I hit the CRC. And i do agree with Griffin, it too reminds me of the Gwen Stefani song, that song is so legendary. I use to listen to it all the time.

  3. This is actually very true. I used to get really bad cramps after exercising, then my doctor told me i didn't have enough potassium. Bananas did the trick!

  4. Bananas are absolutely awesome! They have become one of my favorite fruits because they are so easy to eat (and to take from the dining halls).

  5. Yeah I often eat bananas before or after I work out. When i played football in high school, it would often be very hot and in all those pads I had bad cramping problems. So on game days, I would eat like 4 bananas.

  6. I really hate bananas. I know they're good for me, but the texture weirds me out. They turn brown so easily and I really don't like the smell.
    Are there any other foods as rich in potassium as the banana?

    if your banana goes brown, it's perfect for making Banana Bread!

  8. I always finish off my meals at Brittain with a banana.

    @Joshua

    My mom used to make Banana Bread every Sunday (well, she probably still does, I just don't get it anymore). She would buy a lot of bananas in the beginning of the week, then used whatever we hadn't eaten to make the bread.

  9. Your topic made me laugh because it seemed really random:) Yes bananas are not only good for potassium, but helps prevent cramps if you are an athlete. So, eat before you play and your chances of cramping up in your legs decreases.

    Also, if you are hungry I would not recommend eating bananas as they are proven to make you hungrier.

  10. Bananas are one of my favorite fruits. Its awesome how great they are for our bodies. My mom used to make banana bread out of our leftover brown bananas, too. I felt really good knowing that if I let them brown I could still eat them (in a delicious form).

  11. It seems the majority of the fruits (what few ones i have consumed this year) have been bananas. I play tennis as well and have learned the importance of bananas during long matches.

  12. Bananas are indeed helpful with cramps, as a former cross-country runner i know just how effective they can be in preventing cramps. Those seemingly ruined bananas are also excellent in desserts like banana pudding.

  13. i totally agree with all of this. I usually eat a banana a day because I'm prone to cramps in my calf muscles in my legs if I don't. Plus on top of all what you said, bananas are good.
