Review of "The Accidental Hedonist"

At first glance of this blog, I was a bit hesitant about how to approach a review of blogsite heavily focusing on beer; however, it must be done. The visual set-up of this site is very nice. The font of the text is standard and is easy to read with no strain. Kate Hopkins, the author of the blog, also conveniently places subject headers in bold, allowing for the reader to go easily with her process of thought. And thought this comment may just be feeding off of my own personal preference, the right side of the page is not lined completely with distracting advertisements. A few are present, yet they are not a nuisance to the reader. The photos that are used with the post also nicely compliment what Hopkins has written. From the content displayed, Hopkins presents herself as a knowledgeable on the subject of beer. Her commentary adds a often overlooked and unrecognized aspect of beer, causing the reader to realize that beer is a beverage to be savored and enjoyed. Hopkins also seemingly adds more validity to her argument by bringing a case of science into food. Hopkins' post seems to cater more to those who are more interested in the area of beer and what can be done with it than the average reader. Yet Hopkins does not use jargon that she doesn't fully explain which allows any reader to easily go through and comprehend the content. This blog presents a large amount of educational information and has the potential to turn any average reader into someone who seeks to learn more about a topic as seemingly mundane as beer.
